Western Medical Acupuncture
Western medical acupuncture is a therapeutic modality involving the insertion of fine needles. It is an adaptation of Chinese acupuncture using current knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology, with the principles of evidence based medicine. It is mainly used to treat musculoskeletal pain and neuralgia (nerve pain), with good results in pain reduction. It is also effective for postoperative pain. At south East Osteopathy we provide Western medical acupuncture if needed as part of our osteopathic treatments at no extra cost.
